What is microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion or microderm for short, is an effective treatment for addressing the signs of aging. Microderm is often used to soften fine lines and wrinkles, help to smooth out rough skin, reduce the appearance of scarring (including acne scars), decrease pore size, and reduces superficial hyper-pigmentation, also known as age spots.
How long does it take to recover from your chemical peel?
Many of our customers experience only slightly sensitive skin for the next day up to a week. Fresher skin layers are exposed as part of our treatment, so sensitivity issues are unavoidable. However, this sensitivity will not impede your day-to-day life. We’ll provide you with some sun protection for your skin before you leave.
How often should I schedule a facial at your salon?
Doctors recommend facials no more than once per month. To have facials more often would not be advantageous, as the skin would not have time to recover or even build up older skin that could be exfoliated.
Can you help me choose the one that’s best for me?
Yes, of course! We have a large selection, and everyone here knows a lot about them. Some of our facial treatments are designed to target specific areas, while others are more about renewing the entire face. We would be happy to tell you more about our facials when you visit our salon.
How long does a facial take?
This can vary anywhere between 30 minutes for an express facial, to 90 minutes for the ultimate in luxurious skincare pampering and will also vary based on whether you opt to customize your facial with additional treatments, such as microdermabrasion or a peel.
Does microdermabrasion leave behind a powder residue on the skin?
The technology behind microdermabrasion has evolved over time, and modern techniques do not leave any residue behind. The technology that is associated with leaving a residue behind is 'crystal microdermabrasion', which worked by spraying and vacuuming aluminum oxide crystals onto the skin.
